Texas trial lawyers who prepare every case for a jury
For three decades we have taken hard cases into the courtroom and won them there. You work directly with a named partner from the first call to the final verdict.
Recognized by peers and the bench

“We take fewer cases so we can try every one of them as if it were our only one.”
A boutique trial firm with the resources of a large one
Hartwell & Crane was founded in 1994 by two former prosecutors who believed clients deserved more than a case number. Today our 14 attorneys take on a limited number of cases across six practice areas.
- A partner on every case. A named partner leads your matter from the first call to the final verdict.
- Direct access. You get your attorney’s direct number, and calls are returned the same business day.
- Trial-ready from day one. Insurers settle fairly with lawyers they know will try the case.
Focused practice. Deep courtroom experience
We limit our work to six areas so every attorney on your case knows the law, the local judges and the opposing counsel.

What clients say after the case is over
Before you call
Answers to what clients ask us most. For anything else, give us a call.
Ask a QuestionCan we meet by video?
Yes. You can meet us by phone, by video or in one of our four Texas offices.
What happens after I send the form?
A partner reads your request the same day, checks for conflicts and calls you within one business day.
How long will my case take?
Most matters resolve in 9 to 18 months. Cases that go to trial can take longer. We give you a realistic timeline at the first meeting and update it as the case develops.
Will I work with a partner or an associate?
A partner leads every case and is your main contact. Associates and paralegals support the work so it moves quickly.
What should I bring to the first meeting?
Any documents you have: police or incident reports, medical records, letters, contracts, photos and insurance details. If you have nothing yet, come anyway.
